What's included in a machine service?

For all espresso machine servicing an Espresso Engineer will check all aspects of your machine and replace any components that we think will fail during the next 12 - 18 months.

  • We de-scale your machine using glass bead blasters and ultrasonic acid bath cleaners.
  • We replace every rubber part, lubricate every moving part and test every electrical part
  • We adjust pump and steam pressures with calibrated gauges.
  • Finally we test & tag your machine to ensure it complies with NZ safety standards & load all documents into your personalised cloud file.

What brands do you service?

We are the New Zealand factory authorised agents for VBM and Mazzer and reguarly service around 100 different models of commercial and domestic Italian espresso machines. We also offer a Espresso Engineering service to rebuild / remanufacture antique espresso machines.

Why service my espresso machine?

With normal use, components in your machine will wear out. So if you want to avoid costly repairs then it's important to get your machine serviced once a year or so. We also suggest you get a water filter change done at the same time. Think of it like a Warrant of Fitness for your car: it makes sure everything is running smoothly.

How long will it take to get my machine serviced?

Espresso Engineers work on a queue system and we aim to get your machine back to you asap. 

How much will it cost?

Every job is different, this is why we don’t offer fixed prices. We will look at your machine and give you a cost estimate outlining parts and labour required to service or repair your machine.

Can you pick up my machine for its’ service?

We offer free courier service to our domestic customers living in central Auckland when booking online. Contact us to arrange pick up details.

Do you service grinders?

Espresso Engineers are factory authorized service agents for MAZZER. You can book your Mazzer Grinder in for a service using our booking form.

Why clean my espresso machine?

Please remember that it's important to clean your machine after each use and filtering the water supply correctly is also important to avoid build up in the machine. Please check our handy Tips and Tricks we’ve put together here

Will I need a new machine?

We will advise you if the service and repair outgrow the cost of getting a new machine. Our experienced and knowledgeable staff are here to help and will happily give you advise. A full range of The VBM domobar espresso machines are showcased here.
